FIRST BOUT + Banked Track MaDnEsS!!!

OK so it's been a while...but this past Friday I played in my first bout! Not only that, but my team WON 116:64!!! Insane!!! The after party was at On the Rocks in Garden Grove, and although I didn't win MVP for my team, one of my team's jammers pulled me aside and told me I should have...huge complement!


So Saturday, my BF went to San Diego for the day to reconnect with an old friend so I took the opportunity to drive into LA with some of my freshie teammates and check out the LA Derby Doll's banked track! We learned how to get onto the track, climb up the bank, skate off the bank onto the floor in the middle of the track, do rail spins, and how to skate the track for the most speed! It was amazing...and painful...but mostly AMAZING! Also, a great way to loosen up my muscles and push out some of that lactic acid from the bout the night before. So I'm officially a banked track junkie, but hey, there are much worse things to be hooked to! I can't wait for our banked track to be fully constructed so that we can sk8 all over it!!!!
